Under the umbrella of the 16 Days of Activism to Eliminate Violence against Women and Girls, the UN Women Training Centre and the World Food Programme (WFP) jointly delivered two workshops on Understanding Masculinities and Violence against Women and Girls from 01 – 04 December in Rome, Italy, for WFP personnel.

The UN Women Training Centre delivered two trainings of the course Gender, Migration, Development: a Matter of Rights. The first training took place in Bangkok from 24-26 November, building the capacities of relevant staff of inter-agencies mechanisms, gender machineries, civil society organizations, migrant worker alliances and networks.

The UN Women Training Centre is pleased to present the 2016 Course Catalogue, a summary of current and upcoming courses, as well as available resources and upcoming initiatives. The catalogue is available in English, Spanish and French.

El Centro de Formación de ONU Mujeres se complace en presentar el Catálogo de Cursos 2016, un resumen de los cursos actuales y los que estarán próximamente disponible, así como los recursos disponibles y las futuras iniciativas. El catálogo está disponible en inglés, español y francés.

Using the Beijing review process as its central theme, the report Training for Gender Equality: Twenty Years On explores the key developments and issues in training for gender equality since 1995. The accompanying Interactive Tool and Infographic provide a quick overview of the findings presented in the report. These three tools provide a review how training for gender equality has evolved from the Beijing Platform for Action in 1995 to the present day (Beijing+5, Beijing+10, Beijing+15, and Beijing+20) in the Platform’s critical areas of concern.

In an effort to support training for gender equality throughout the UN System, the International Organization for Migration has launched a call to all its staff urging them to take the UN Women Training Centre’s e-learning course “I Know Gender: An Introduction to Gender Equality.” This call includes a video by William Lacy Swing, Director General of the IOM, informing their staff that because gender equality is vital to their success in assisting migrants and their families, the course is now mandatory to all IOM staff. To support IOM with the strategy to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment into its mandate the Training Centre is providing a training for Training for IOM Gender Focal Points this week (12-16 October) in IOM Headquarters in Geneva.

En un esfuerzo para apoyar la capacitación para la igualdad de género en el Sistema de Naciones Unidas, la Organización Internacional para las Migraciones ha lanzado una convocatoria a todo su personal exhortándolos a tomar el curso "Yo Sé de Género, Una Introducción a la Igualdad de Género para el Personal de la ONU" del Centro de Capacitación de ONU Mujeres. Esta convocatoria incluye un video con William Lacy Swing, Director General de la OIM, informando que como la igualdad de género es vital para el éxito de la OIM en asistir a los/las migrantes y sus familias, el curso ahora es imperativo para todo el personal de la OIM. Para apoyar a la OIM con su estrategia de promover la igualdad de género y el empoderamiento de la mujer dentro de su mandato, el Centro de Capacitación de ONU Mujeres proporcionará una capacitación para los puntos focales de género de la OIM la semana del 12-16 de octubre en la sede de la OIM en Ginebra.

Dans un effort pour soutenir la formation pour l'égalité des sexes dans le système des Nations Unies, l'Organisation Internationale pour les Migrations a lancé un appel à tous les employés en leur demandant de suivre le cours «Je Connais le Genre : Introduction à l'Égalité Entre les Sexes pour le Personnel des Nations Unies » du Centre de Formation d'ONU Femmes. Cela inclut un appel vidéo avec William Lacy Swing, Directeur Général de l'OIM, en informant que comme l'égalité des sexes est essentielle pour le succès de l'OIM en aider les migrants et leurs familles, le cours est maintenant obligatoire pour tout le personnel de l'OIM. Pour soutenir l’OIM dans sa stratégie de promotion de l'égalité entre les sexes et l'autonomisation des femmes au sein de son mandat, le Centre de Formation de l'ONU Femmes fournira une formation aux points focaux genre de l’OIM la semaine de 12-16 octobre au siège de l'OIM à Genève.

From 28 September to 2 October, the UN Women Training Centre held a Face-to-Face training workshop on understanding masculinities and violence against women and girls. Participants were UN Women staff members from different regions.

Del 28 de Septiembre al 2 de Octubre, se llevó a cabo en el Centro de Capacitación de ONU Mujeres un taller de capacitación sobre entender masculinidades y la violencia contra las mujeres y niñas. Las/los participantes fueron personal de ONU Mujeres de diferentes regiones.

Du 28 septembre au 2 octobre, le Centre de formation d’ONU Femmes a organisé un atelier de formation sur comprendre la masculinité et la violence à l’ égard des femmes et des filles. Les participant(e)s étaient des membres du personnel d’ONU Femmes de différentes régions.

UN Women Training Centre held an Expert Group Meeting on 26 - 28 August in Santo Domingo aiming to share knowledge and research in training for gender equality. The Expert Group was composed of recognized experts in the field of training for gender equality both from academia and training institutes.

Del 26 al 28 de agosto, el Centro de Capacitación de ONU Mujeres organizó una Reunión del Grupo de Expertos/as en Santo Domingo con el fin de compartir conocimiento e información con respecto a la capacitación para la igualdad de género. El Grupo de Expertos/as estaba compuesto de reconocidos expertos/as en el campo de la capacitación para la igualdad de género que vienen tanto de la academia como de institutos de capacitación.

Du 26 au 28 août, le Centre de formation d’ONU Femmes a organisé une Réunion de Groupe d’experts à Saint-Domingue en vue de partager les connaissances et les recherches sur la formation concernant l’égalité des sexes. Le Groupe d’experts était composé d’experts reconnus dans le domaine de la formation concernant l’égalité des sexes, issus du milieu universitaire et des instituts de formation.
