Training on Gender Mainstreaming with UNDP Dominican Republic Office 5 August 2016 On 4 August 2016, the UN Women Training Centre delivered a training to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Dominican Republic country team on Gender Mainstreaming in Programmes and Projects. Participants first completed the Spanish version of the online self-paced course I Know Gender, which provided an introduction to gender concepts, issues, and international frameworks, before focusing gender mainstreaming in the face-to- face portion of the training. UNU Jargon Buster App Now Includes a Gender Perspective 20 July 2016 The UN Women Training Centre Glossary is now available through the United Nations University (UNU) mobile app Jargon Buster, a glossary app that defines hundreds of UN terms and acronyms, as selected by various UNU sites. The free app is searchable, offline, and can be downloaded for Android and iOS operating systems. More

Training Centre holds Webinar for Gender Parity in Costa Rica, in the context of the 2016 local elections 1 July 2016 On June 30th, the UN Women Training Centre held the Webinar Gender Parity in Costa Rica, in the context of the 2016 local elections. The Webinar aimed to present the experience of Nielsen Perez, who was a candidate for Mayor of Vázquez de Coronado, a canton of the city of San Jose in Costa Rica. Her testimony presented the landscape of women´s political participation in the electoral process to the participants of the Webinar. More
