The UN Women Training Centre would like to invite you to register for our latest online moderated course Gender Equality at the Local Level in Latin America and the Caribbean: Democratic Governance and Inclusive Development. This 8 week course will run from 7 September to 8 November, 2015 and will be held in Spanish. Interested participants can register and apply for this course here until 26 July.
The objective of the course is to increase the participants’ understanding of the importance of human rights and gender equality in democratic governance and inclusive development. The participants will be able to identify the strategies adapted to the local context to promote gender equality in local development.
This is course is aimed to benefit local authorities and elected women, member of associations of local governments and elected women in the local level, technical personal of local governments and development organizations. This tool could also be of interested to regional and central authorities working with the local government, community leaders, members of women’s organizations, and UN staff.
This course will be moderated by Maria Arboleda, an international expert on gender and political participation, and will include a series of online lectures from international guest speakers.
