Gender Responsive Budgeting training successfully delivered in Serbia

Professionals from 10 countries completed successfully a Face-to-Face Course on Gender-Responsive Budgeting (GRB), organized by the UN Women Training Centre, in coordination with the Leadership and Governance Section, in Belgrade, Serbia during the week of 9-13 October 2017.


The participants came from Armenia, Ethiopia, Georgia, India, Lebanon, Macedonia, Nepal, Pakistan, Serbia and Spain. Two of them, that came from UN Women-Ethiopia, had already completed the 11-week on-line moderated course also offered by UN Women Training Centre the first semester of this year.

The face-to-face Course aimed to combine theory with hands-on training to develop technical skills for implementing specific GRB tools related to governmental spending. The attendants had the opportunity to examine key elements for GRB such as actors, strategies, good practices and challenges implementing GRB. They discussed the gender dimension of public revenue and spending, and they also worked on technical tools to see how they could tailor them to their context.

The next edition of the GRB training will be for Spanish-speaking audiences, and will take place in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, the week of 19-23 February 2018. For more information on the next edition, follow this link.
