On 3rd November 2016, the UN Women Training Centre delivered a training to personnel from the Colombia Foreign Affairs Ministry on Gender Issues. The training aimed to enhance knowledge and skills on basic gender concepts, while informing on the current situation of women at a national and regional level, and providing tools to include a gender perspective in the daily work of personnel from the Colombian Foreign Affairs Ministry.
The training was offered to 40 participants from various areas within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including: Human Resources, Press and Communication Office, Planning Office, Change Management Office, Directorate of Migrant and Consular Affairs and Citizen Services, Diplomatic Academy Directorate, Internal Work Group of Tenders and Contracts, Directorate of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law, Directorate of Economic, Social and Environmental Affairs.
This capacity development initiative was led by the Human Resources Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and organized with support from the Working Group on Gender Mainstreaming of the Ministry.
