First Certification course of Facilitators for Participatory Gender Audit in Spanish

This past 24-28 October, the UN Women Training Centre, in collaboration with ITC-ILO hosted the finalization of the first Certification Course of Facilitators for Participatory Gender Audit (PGA) of the International Labour Organization (ILO). The first online phase of this course took place online from 22 September to 21 October, while this face-to-face portion was held in-house in Santo Domingo.

The certification course for PGA of the ILO  ensures high quality standards for facilitators who take the PGA certification provides guarantees to the organizations that the certified facilitators for PGA comply or exceed the quality standards established by ITC-ILO. The certification provided facilitators with a set of skills and knowledge such as:

  • applying a gender perspective to analytical work;
  • detecting and carrying out a discrimination map at work;
  • identifying strategies for the defense and skills generation for the promotion of inclusive workplaces;
  • improving communication and organizational capacity to be able to set up a coordinated Gender Audit team;
  • analysing accountability systems, evaluation and monitoring of instruments utilised for gender equality and the management of change;
  • identifying new challenges and possible improvements.

The course featured 15 previous participants of PGA courses of ITC-ILO, as well as those who have received similar training; experts in gender; and professionals who work in the incorporation of gender perspective. These fifteen participants of this first PGA Certification course in Spanish, have now become the first generation of certified PGA Trainers in Spanish, most of which will now serve the Latin America region.
