Results Based Management Training for UN Women LAC

2 December 2016

From 28 November to 1 December, the UN Women Training Centre facilitated the face-to-face portion of a course on Results Based Management at the Latin America and Caribbean Regional Office (ACRO) in Panama.

Training on RBM

The Training, which started with an online moderated portion from 14-25 November, intended to provide an interactive space for learning and knowledge sharing on strategic planning, Results Based Management and evaluation within UN Women. This included:

  • Information about the latest development regarding strategic planning in UN Women (calendar for development of new strategic plan, regional strategy, upcoming Strategic Notes in the region, and information on 2018 work planning guidance)
  • Use specific tools to implement Results Based Management (Theory of Change, results framework, Results Management System, etc.) – with minimal use of slideshow presentations throughout the training, maximizing opportunities for interaction, practical exercises and exchange of experiences among peers
  • Present recent modalities introduced in Results Management System and upcoming modalities, as well as plans to improve linkages with administrative corporate systems
  • Share main findings of recent corporate and regional evaluations and define UN Women approach to evaluation and management responses to evaluations

The training was delivered to 21 UN Women Staff from the Latin America and Caribbean region, including Country Offices and Programme Presence Offices, who often hold multiple roles in the office (monitoring, evaluation, programming, resource mobilization, etc.).

The Results Based Management Course is part of an ongoing effort from the UN Women Training Centre to support country and regional offices deliver their action plans to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment.
