Registration Open! Open Online Lecture Series on Care Economy

UN Women Training Centre is pleased to announce registration for the Open Online Lecture Series on Care Economy. A series of open webinars to enhance awareness and understanding on the critical place care work occupies in development, as well as the need to create policies aimed at creating a fair and equal social organization of care to advance human development, gender equality and women’s empowerment.

The series will consist of 4 webinars in English and 4 in Spanish, delivered by expert panelists from around the globe.

This open webinar series is part of the work carried out by the UN Women Training Centre on care economy, inspired by its online moderated course "Why We Care About Care", which aims to provide a global perspective on care, care work, and care economy. It enhance awareness, knowledge and understanding on the critical place care work occupies in development, while simultaneously providing skills and tools for analyzing and identifying types of interventions and policies for a fair and equal social organization of care to advance human development, gender equality and women’s empowerment.

We have also recently produced the booklet Why we care about care? A collection of essays on Care Economy came about within the framework of the learning activities implemented by the UN Women Training Centre with the objective of developing a body of work on the ‘Care Economy.’ The goal is to develop a more in-depth knowledge of the reality today of care-giving and care-receiving, how it is linked to the inequality between men and women, and how it fits into the current global development model.
