The purpose of this literature review and analysis is to provide insights into the health and livelihood challenges faced by young men in the Southeastern European region. This paper provides an overview on the realities of young men between the ages of 15-25 in the Southeastern European region4 with a particular focus on young men from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and Serbia. It will also present data, and in a few cases an initial scan of some successful program and policy examples, from the region in the areas of young men’s overall development, gender equality, sexual and reproductive health, substance abuse and mental health, and experiences of violence.
