Registration open for the Gender Responsive Budgeting course in Spanish

10 November 2017

As part of a continuous effort to ensure gender-sensitive governance frameworks, the UN Women Training Centre has opened registration to the Gender Responsive Budgeting (GRB) course in Spanish.  This new course will take place in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, from 19 to 23 February 2018 at the UN Women Training Centre.

The face to face training, that has already been delivered in English in coordination with the Leadership and Governance Section of UN Women throughout 2017, is designed to enhance the conceptual, strategic, analytical and practical skills of GRB practitioners, which will accelerate progress toward the goal of gender equality. The training also aims to encourage participants to inclusively and equally analyze and manage governmental and/or institutional incomes and expenditures.

The facilitators, experts in GRB, will present the global context on GRB as well as good practices in Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as other regions. Participants will gain knowledge on some of the tools that can be used during the budget cycle, and understand the methodology to apply them. They will also have a space to exchange their own experiences and practices, and think about possible strategies in their context to start or improve GRB activities.

We invite governmental policymakers and development practitioners -including United Nations staff supporting GRB initiatives, researchers, civil society and advocates- who are keen to enhance their knowledge of GRB to fill the application form before 31 January 2018.
