Biblioteca Virtual del INSTRAW

Bienvenida/o a la BIBLIOTECA VIRTUAL DEL INSTRAW, una colección de alrededor de 600 publicaciones realizadas por el antiguo Instituto Internacional de Investigaciones y Capacitación de las Naciones Unidas para la promoción de la Mujer (UN-INSTRAW), que sirvió como el instituto principal para la investigación, capacitación y gestión del conocimiento para alcanzar la igualdad de género y el empoderamiento de las mujeres. El INSTRAW, en conjunto con DAW, OSAGI y UNIFEM, unieron fuerzas en el 2010 para establecer lo que es actualmente ONU Mujeres.

El Legado del INSTRAW

Además de la Biblioteca Virtual del INSTRAW, El Centro de Capacitación de ONU Mujeres presenta la publicación “El legado intelectual del INSTRAW para la promoción de los derechos de las mujeres. Memoria Institucional de 1976 a 2010”, que intenta rendir homenaje a la historia del INSTRAW así como a los movimientos de mujeres y gobiernos que le apoyaron.

Description: This summary presents the case study research that examines the gender dimensions of migration and remittances in the context of Albania and the destination country of Greece. Migrant women and men are already bearing the heavy burden of substituting fragmented and inadequate social and labour policies and systems in origin areas like rural Albania through financing the survival, health and education of their families. It is the responsibility of governments to provide adequate structures wherein further investment can lead to growth and improvement of freedoms and capabilities.

Este documento trata sobre la aplicación de las recomendaciones plasmadas en el documento ‘’Recomendación General 26 sobre los derechos de las mujeres migrantes (RG26)". A la luz de esta recomendación, UNIFEM junto con UN-INSTRAW, han llevado a cabo un ejercicio piloto de mapeo de iniciativas estatales encaminadas a proteger los derechos de las mujeres trabajadoras migrantes de y en Ecuador, considerando el importante rol del país como origen y destino migratorio, y la amalgama de temáticas migratorias y políticas de género que pueden analizarse bajo un enfoque de derechos.

The mapping of key actors and the discussion of historical and current migratory patterns and remittance practices in each country provided a useful background that allowed for an analysis of collective and social remittances. With this publication, UN-INSTRAW and UNDP are committed to producing applied research that promotes the facilitation of gender-responsive policies and practices related to migration and development.
