Over 15 thousand people from all over the world have already taken the course I Know Gender: An Introduction to Gender Equality for UN Staff. Now, the UN Women Training Centre is proud to announce the three core modules of the course are also available in Spanish and French.
The course aims to develop and/or strengthen awareness and understanding of gender equality and women’s empowerment as a first step towards behavioral change and the integration of a gender perspective into everyday work for all UN staff t headquarters, regional and country levels.
The three core module of the course are:
1) Gender concepts to get started
2) International frameworks for gender equality
3) Promoting gender equality throughout the UN System
This free course, is addressed to UN System Staff, as well as government officials, development practitioners, civil society and individuals interested in gaining knowledge and understanding about equality and women’s rights issues.
The interactive course content can be accessed from any place and at any time on the UN Women Training Centre eLearning Campus, allowing users to work at their own pace. The course also provides reference material that allows the users to expand their knowledge on specific topics beyond what is required for completion of the course.
For the development of the course, the following agencies participated in the peer review where consensus was reached on modules and content: ESCWA, FAO, IAEA, IFAD, IOM, ITC-ILO, OHCHR, UNAIDS, UNDP, UNESCO, UNFPA, UNICEF.
