The UN Women Training Centre is pleased to introduce the module Trade and Gender Equality, a new module part of the "I Know Gender" online self-paced course. This module was developed in collaboration with the United Nations Conference for Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and aims to enhance knowledge on the relationship between trade and gender equality.
The module Trade and Gender Equality, will help learners:
- Identify the two-way relationship between trade and gender.
- Appreciate how gender inequalities can enhance as well as undermine trade performance.
- Recognize how trade can impact women's well-being and economic empowerment in their different roles.
- Be aware of how gender can be mainstreamed in trade policy.
The course is addressed to economists, UNCTAD personnel, and managers working on issues related to trade and gender equality. The I Know Gender course of which this module is part of aims to strengthen or develop awareness and understanding of gender equality and women's empowerment as a first step towards behavioral change and the integration of a gender perspective into everyday work.
Trade and Gender Equality is an optional module of the "I Know Gender" course that can be accessed after completing modules 1-3. All the modules are available free of cost and can be accessed at user's own pace, from anywhere and at any time. Click here to register now.
