A 3-week online dialogue addresses Intersectionality and its relevance in Gender Equality

In the framework of the Community of Practice (CoP) of the UN Women Training Center, a Virtual Dialogue involving key experts has discussed the “what”, “why” and “how” of addressing intersectionality in training for gender equality during three weeks.

Conducted between 11-15 December in Nepal, the Course to be facilitated by the UN Women Training Centre aims at enhancing capacities and knowledge of leaders and managers to advance gender equality, women’s empowerment, and women’s rights agendas within their organizational contexts. The Course seeks to strengthen leaders’ and managers’ use of gender-inclusive and transformative leadership principles and practices to address institutional gender biases and promote commitments to gender equality and women’s rights.

Registration Open for Advanced Course on Gender Responsive Budgeting

Gender-responsive budgeting (GRB) is a concept and a practical approach widely used in developed and developing countries in the last 35 years. It can serve as a tool to achieve the triple objective of promoting development, promoting gender equality and fulfill human rights. Gender budget initiatives analyze how governments raise and spend public money, with the aim of securing gender equality in decision-making about public resource allocation; and gender equality in the distribution of the impact of government budgets, both in their benefits and in their burdens. Based on this experience, the UN Women Training Centre in coordination with the Leadership and Governance Section, has developed an Advanced Face-to-Face Course on Gender-Responsive Budgeting, one session in Spanish from 18-22 September in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and one in English from 9-13 October in Belgrade, Serbia.

The UN Women Training Centre is proud to announce registration is now open for the training course Transformative Leadership for Gender Equality and Women's Rights, which will be held from 04-08 September 2017 in Nairobi, Kenya (register before 14 July 2017). The objective of this course is to strengthen capacity and knowledge of leaders and managers to advance gender equality, women’s empowerment, and women’s rights agendas within their organizational contexts. The course seeks to strengthen leaders’ and managers’ use of gender-inclusive and transformative leadership principles and practices to address institutional gender biases and promote commitments to gender equality and women’s rights.

New Module on Gender Equality in Sustainable Project Management!

This module aims to strengthen skills in mainstreaming gender throughout sustainable project management activities in order to ensure tangible and sustainable results.

The UN Women Training Centre is proud to announce registration is now open for the next issue of the blended course Gender Mainstreaming, which will take place from 18- September – 13 October online and from 16-20 October face-to-face in Bangkok, Thailand. The objective of this course is to strengthen capacity of UN System, development organizations, governments and other stakeholders to mainstream gender in public policies, programmes and projects and institutions and organizations.

Registration Open for the Certified Professional Development Programme for Gender Trainers

The UN Women Training Centre has partnered with the Royal Tropical Institute (KIT) to deliver a Certified Professional Development Programme for Gender Trainers. This certification is a 6-month programme that aims to reposition training for gender equality as a strategy to challenge and engender mainstream development and support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
