This five-week online workshop focuses on how to rapidly convert face-to-face courses into e-learning formats. It offers participants approaches, methods, tools, tips and techniques to do so. This programme is particularly useful for trainers and specialists involved in the delivery of training workshops who, due to the global lockdown, are confronted with uncertainty and face serious challenges in delivering face-to-face courses. Participants in this course will be introduced to rapid conversion tools, tips and techniques, best practices and recommended approaches to engage and support online learners; as well as learn to use several proven quality and accessibility frameworks to guide their conversion and design efforts.

This e-learning course introduces participants to the concept, principles, tools and practical examples of gender responsive budgeting (GRB) and how to use it. Starting with basics of gender equality principles, through public budgets and budgetting the course discusses how best to combine gender knowledge with knowledge of public finance to achieve de-facto gender equality and effective use of budget funds. The course will also cover different examples and case studies to show variety of approaches in GRB around the world. Through case studies, it will also look at how practitioners can use GRB tools to analyse existing budget programs and provide recommendations for improvement of the programmes to better target the needs of all. Participants will engage in several practical exercises to think critically about how they can use GRB effectively in different contexts.

This e-learning course provides participants with a general introduction to the field of transitional justice from the perspective of the need for accountability for women’s specific experiences of harm during conflict. Legal as well as non-prosecutorial responses to women’s experiences of harm (such as international criminal trials, truth commissions and reparations programmes) will be examined. Case studies from processes employed in post-conflict contexts such as Lebanon and Syria will be used to illustrate the application of critical concepts of gender theory to the transitional justice field.
After this course, participants will: • be able to identify the relevance of gender equality to processes of post-conflict transition and transitional justice; • be able to critically assess processes of transition from a gender perspective; • possess knowledge on the particular experiences of transitional justice for women in a number of specific country contexts.

This e-learning course introduces participants to principles, strategies, normative frameworks and policy approaches that have emerged from this work. Examining critical concepts such as masculinity, patriarchy and intersectionality, the course discusses why a holistic approach is central to achieving gender equality and explores the relationship between gender equality, sustainable development and human rights.
Through case studies, it will also look at how practitioners can use these key concepts to transform gender relations and overcome gender inequalities faced by women and men. Participants will think critically about how men and boys can serve both as change agents and as target groups in realising gender equality and gender justice for all. This course will focus on the lessons learned by organisations that have carried out gender equality programmes that have engaged men and boys in fields such as gender-based violence, sexual and reproductive health and rights, domestic work and caregiving, education, income generation and economic empowerment of women.

This e-learning course provides participants with an understanding of how a gender lens is critical to all elements of peacebuilding, conflict resolution and recovery work, initiatives and policy. It outlines the normative framework around women’s rights and peacebuilding, security sector governance, approaches to transitional justice, security policy making and awareness raising on women’s and gender issues. This course uses weekly case studies to illustrate how the normative framework has been put into practice in different regions of the world. Finally, the course takes a critical look at the implementation of the women, peace and security resolutions, including gaps that that make a comprehensive, realistic and effective response to gender, peace and security issues challenging in field as well as in the global discourse. Participants will critically analyse international interventions on peace and security from a women’s rights perspective.

This advanced e-learning course aims to provide participants with comprehensive knowledge of gender mainstreaming and gender analysis. It draws on best practice and case studies from around the world. The course also provides the opportunity to focus on a specific sectors or policy areas (such as, education, sexual exploitation and abuse, organisational development, or human resources) and for participants to employ this knowledge in their own workplace through an action research topic.
The first half of the course will focus on lessons learned in gender mainstreaming in various UN agencies, international non-governmental organisations, governments and programmes. In the second half participants will be introduced to specific gender mainstreaming tools, including the use of gender planning frameworks, and several topical areas based on the interest of the participants. Critical analysis of current theory and practice is encouraged throughout the course.

UNCTAD will offer a special edition of its online course on trade and gender. The additional module includes case studies, data, and coursework with an overall approach that gives weight to topics that best address the region-specific context of member States of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA). This course is offered in both English and French over a period of eight weeks: from 20 May to 14 July 2019.
The course is managed and tutored by the UNCTAD Trade, Gender and Development Programme. The course is based on volume 1 of UNCTAD teaching manual on trade and gender, titled "Unfolding the links".

The objective of this online course (available in English and French) is to provide participants with the knowledge needed to analyse the two-way relationship between trade and gender, and ultimately produce gender-aware policy recommendations. To this end, the course introduces the concepts of trade and gender, and combines theory on the interaction between trade and gender with empirical evidence.
