This advanced e-learning course aims to provide participants with comprehensive knowledge of gender mainstreaming and gender analysis. It draws on best practice and case studies from around the world. The course also provides the opportunity to focus on a specific sectors or policy areas (such as, education, sexual exploitation and abuse, organisational development, or human resources) and for participants to employ this knowledge in their own workplace through an action research topic.
The first half of the course will focus on lessons learned in gender mainstreaming in various UN agencies, international non-governmental organisations, governments and programmes. In the second half participants will be introduced to specific gender mainstreaming tools, including the use of gender planning frameworks, and several topical areas based on the interest of the participants. Critical analysis of current theory and practice is encouraged throughout the course.

UNCTAD will offer a special edition of its online course on trade and gender. The additional module includes case studies, data, and coursework with an overall approach that gives weight to topics that best address the region-specific context of member States of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA). This course is offered in both English and French over a period of eight weeks: from 20 May to 14 July 2019.
The course is managed and tutored by the UNCTAD Trade, Gender and Development Programme. The course is based on volume 1 of UNCTAD teaching manual on trade and gender, titled "Unfolding the links".

The objective of this online course (available in English and French) is to provide participants with the knowledge needed to analyse the two-way relationship between trade and gender, and ultimately produce gender-aware policy recommendations. The Gender and Environment e-course is a valuable resource for the environmental community in its efforts to be more gender responsive. This e-learning course introduces participants to general definitions, concepts and normative and legal frameworks related to concepts of gender-based violence. The course will cover forms, causes and consequences of GBV in conflict contexts, as well as on an endemic basis. Prevention and response programming, as well as models underpinning mainstreaming and targeted actions on GBV, and the need for coordinated approaches will be covered. The course will provide basic knowledge and skills on GBV to staff of international humanitarian and development organisations aiming to deepen their understanding and engagement on GBV responsive programming.
This e-learning course analyses the concepts of human trafficking and migrant smuggling while discussing various practical cases from around the globe. It focuses on existing policies and modalities of prevention, protection and prosecution, including victim identification, national/trans-national referral mechanisms and best practices in combating these crimes while addressing the needs of survivors.
