Learners are encouraged to interact with each other through interactive discussions. The course is self-paced and can be completed within 8-11 weeks. Students can choose to audit this course for free, and verified certificates for successful course participants are available for an extra fee. This course is directed toward undergraduate university students, but high school students and anyone else interested in the health and human rights of women will find it of interest.

El curso a distancia: "La Medición de la Violencia contra las Mujeres en América Latina y el Caribe" abarca conocimientos teórico-prácticos que permiten al participante desarrollar competencias para medir la violencia contra las mujeres, vinculadas al diseño y monitoreo de políticas públicas orientadas a la erradicación de este fenómeno en sus diferentes manifestaciones. Los objetivos del curso son: Fortalecer las capacidades técnicas y competencias para medir la violencia contra las mujeres considerando, por una parte, los indicadores recomendados por la Comisión Estadística de Naciones Unidas y, por otra, los indicadores de violencia del Observatorio de igualdad de género de América Latina y el Caribe, así como la recopilación de los antecedentes más importantes que se desprenden de estudios realizados. La participación en el curso demanda una dedicación mínima de 2 horas diarias. Este tiene una duración total de 80 horas pedagógicas asignadas, que se desarrollan durante 9 semanas.

This training course will analyse the aspects and root causes of discrimination in the world of work and discuss strategies for overcoming barriers to workplace equality, promoting diversity inclusion and helping organizations identify common values and purpose. This e-learning course introduces participants to general definitions, concepts and normative and legal frameworks related to gender-based violence (GBV).
