This course is designed to meet the different needs of those responsible for ensuring equality of opportunity and non-discrimination, both at the policymaking and workplace levels. Ministries of labour and other ministries and national bodies, and employers' and workers' representative organizations may particularly benefit from this training. The course will explore a range of questions. What is discrimination? How does it occur and what are its underlying causes? Who is particularly affected, and why? What is the legal framework defining the duties and responsibilities of the various players in the labour market? What concrete actions can be taken to ensure that everyone has a fair chance to access a decent job? What practical measures can be adopted to value diversity as an asset, at work and in society as a whole?

This online training programme will introduce participants to the operating principles and most commonly used strategies and tools for integrating a gender dimension into budgetary processes. Starting with the basics of GRB involving an analysis of the budgeting cycle, the course will discuss how an organization's commitment to gender equality can (and should) be supported by setting budgetary priorities intended to achieve gender equality, diversity and inclusion, as well as effective use of budget funds. The main topics for discussion will be: Why gender matters; Gender-responsive budgets: Principles and definitions; GRB and the budget cycle framework: Key steps and outputs; Tools for GRB: Costing gender equality, diversity and inclusion.

Una auditoría de género refuerza la capacidad colectiva de una organización para analizar sus actividades desde una perspectiva de género y determinar los aciertos y las deficiencias a la hora de promover la igualdad entre los hombres y las mujeres. El Programa certifica la adquisición de las competencias técnicas necesarias para realizar las Auditorías Participativas de Género de la OIT. La formación se dirige a personas con conocimentos de género interesadas a fortalecer sus capacidades de ejecución y facilitación de auditorías de género aplicando la metodologia de la OIT, como instrumento para reforzar la transversalización de la dimensión de género en las organizaciones, en las políticas y en las agendas de los actores sociales.

This United Nations Gender Focal Points capacity-building programme, collaboratively designed by the ITC-ILO and the UN Women Training Centre, will introduce GFPs to the UN gender architecture and the latest gender policies and frameworks. The programme includes a five-week online learning and action-planning phase. GFPs will explore strategies and tools for identifying and addressing obstacles to gender equality in their context. They will examine gender-mainstreaming tools relating to Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (GEEW), and their concrete application. This eLearning journey will provide participants with the basic knowledge and guidance in the understanding why gender equality matters, particularly in this “new COVID-19 era”. Going through the contents of Block 1, participants will learn why there is a need for change, while in Block 2 they will explore tools and strategies for gender mainstreaming.

The OHCHR electronic course on the human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) people is an introductory course designed for UN staff, State officials, civil society organizations, national human rights institutions and other stakeholders. It will equip learners with information on key terms and concepts related to LGBTI people, harmful myths and stereotypes, human rights violations faced by LGBTI people, the role of the UN and steps that UN officials and others can take to tackle violence and discrimination against LGBTI people.
