This training manual provides trainers, policy makers and practitioners with background information to inform the development of gender-sensitive climate change mitigation measures and includes material to conduct training on gender and climate change. It introduces the nexus of gender and climate change, examines the climate policy landscape, looks at how to make climate finance work for inclusive mitigation, explains how to mainstream gender from policies to projects, and includes useful icebreakers and energizers. The manual is based on workshops on gender and climate change held in Cambodia, the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and Viet Nam in the context of the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) regional technical assistance (RETA) programme, entitled "Harnessing Climate Change Mitigation Initiatives to Benefit Women".
