GTCoP - Community of Practice Training for Gender Equality

This handbook aims to improve the understanding of gender aspects in climate change. It is intended for experts and interested public, and is organized as a training program for male and female representatives of institutions and state administration, so that it may can be used as a source for practical training, as well as a guide for the introduction of gender perspective in programs and projects. The manual is organized according to thematic units of training and includes basic concepts, gender roles and stereotypes; key gender aspects of climate change; legal and strategic frameworks; and the introduction of gender perspectives in policies and programs in the field of climate change. The handbook was published in 2018 by UN Women in partnership with the Government of Serbia and UNDP, and with the financial support of the Global Environment Facility.

This training manual presents a three-day curriculum - including lecturettes, participatory activities, and handouts - of the face-to-face training delivered by EnCompass for PEPFAR implementing partners working with orphans and other vulnerable children and key populations affected by HIV/AIDS. AIDSFree developed this training manual for implementing partners to use in their own trainings both within their organizations and with partners. The training it is based on aimed to increase implementing partners’ capacity to design and implement interventions that are gender-aware and gender-transformative, and prevent and respond to gender-based violence. 

This Gender Inclusive Financial Literacy (GIFT) manual was developed for couples and aims to ensure that both women and men have access to the financial literacy knowledge and skills that they need to manage their money and save for the future, including for emergencies. It also aims to promote more gender equitable relationships, or a 'household approach', where women and men are partners in the household with both having agency indecisions linked to their finances.

This facilitator's manual is part of Seven Moves, the IFRC's 2.5 day-long training course on Protection, Gender and Inclusion in Emergencies. Its objective is to enable participants to understand the issues of protection, gender and inclusion, and their implications for their respective areas of work. This manual presents the information needed to run the 2.5 day Seven Moves: Protection, Gender and Inclusion in Emergencies training course. This manual contains the background to the training, sample agenda, detailed session outlines, tools and external resources and suggested variations that facilitators can use to contextualize or adapt the training based on the participants.

This participants' manual is part of Seven Moves, the IFRC's 2.5 day-long training course on Protection, Gender and Inclusion in Emergencies. Its objective is to enable participants to understand the issues of protection, gender and inclusion, and their implications for their respective areas of work. The training course introduces participants to the Minimum Standards for Protection, Gender and Inclusion in Emergencies, and its approach to gender, age, disability and diversity with a strong focus on sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) prevention, mitigation and response and child protection, through a framework of dignity, access, participation and safety (DAPS).

This manual provides guidance for organizing and facilitating training of trainers in gender-sensitive rural advisory services design and delivery. It has been developed as part of the FAO project “Capacity Development Support to Rural Women on the Socio-economic and Gender Aspects of Sustainable Rural Development”, which was implemented in Turkey and Azerbaijan, in 2014-16. The manual is based on the pilot trainings carried out in Turkey and Azerbaijan and is intended to help meet the needs for training guidelines specifically designed for strengthening the gender sensitivity of rural advisory services. Section 1 introduces the manual, section 2 provides detailed g uidelines for all stages of a workshop design and preparation and section 3 is a step by step programme for delivery of a four day workshop. A final section of annexes includes sample training materials, sample slide presentations and notes for use in workshop delivery, a glossary of gender related terminology, and useful references and resource material on gender and agriculture.

This publication combines training materials and methodology to raise awareness and develop capacities of civil society representatives to integrate gender mainstreaming into their programmatic interventions. The publication has been developed based on UN Women's experience in Turkey conducting gender-sensitive refugee-response trainings with 490 representatives from 24 CSOs in 2019 and 2020 as part of the "Strengthening the Resilience of Syrian Women and Girls and Host Communities in Iraq, Jordan and Turkey" programme, funded by the EU Regional Trust Fund for Syrian Refugees. It builds on and completements the Gender Handbook for Humanitarian Action (IASC 2018) prepared and published by the Inter-Agency Standing Committee, which provides guidance to frontline humanitarian workers on how to integrate gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls throughout the humanitarian action cycle.

This handbook for 'mentees' was developed as a resource to help APEC anti-corruption agencies establish their own career mentoring programmes as a practical, effective approach to improve gender mainstreaming and to empower women in the fight against corruption. It is geared towards women in these agencies receiving mentorship support.
