This training manual has been developed to provide an introduction to the policy framework on United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 (UNSCR 1325) and its follow-up resolutions, the concept of gender and its practical application in the context of the European Union's Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) for both civilian and military personnel. The manual supports three key learning objectives: to familiarize participants with key components of the UN and EU policy framework on UNSCR 1325 and its follow-up resolutions, to give examples that show why gender is an important perspective in the work/context of a CSDP mission and to apply a gender perspective through a simple gender analysis. The training manual is composed of six training units.
